Week 5 Recap

This week has been a heavy one for me for many reasons. On an individual level it was rough because I was still recovering from being sick and battling the urge to feel behind in the things I wanted to do. Please note, I say battling, because at this point it is important to refuse to succumb to our old ways of assessing and judging ourselves. I do refuse, and I hope you are too. I also ended up decently imobile and in serious pain as a result of an issue with my back. The long and short of it is, on a personal front, the last two weeks felt as though they were challenging me. The bare minimum was a challenge – just to stay committed, stay focused, AND give space for things that don’t go perfectly to plan while not losing focus was where most of my energy was spent. Additionally, I was grieved and thrown off focus by impactful world events and various other circumstantial realities. None of this is bad, nor should it be assessed with judgement as though we can judge it rightly. It is the simply ebbs and flow of life and we are here to ebb and flow with it. Don’t give in to the temptation to put the power of life itself on your shoulders. Let life happen, and move with it. Give grace where needed, flex where needed, and lean in where needed. To recap on this week, as the week was about recapping on how the last month has gone, don’t lose sight of why you started this. Hold onto the hope you had when you believed this could lead you to new places. IT WILL. Don’t let a circumstantial reality, superficial assessment, or self led pattern talk you out of the opportunity that has been offered to you in this challenge. Pass through the distractions and anchor back to your faith that this is not like other times. This is different. You were born for things that are begging to be discovered here. You will see change after these 12 weeks.
